Is your iPhone letting apps snoop on you? According to tests by security researchers at app development company Mysk Inc., that’s exactly what’s happening.

iPhone apps including Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X/Twitter are skirting Apple’s privacy rules to collect user data through notifications,so if you close apps to stop them from collecting data in the background, but still have notifications on, they’re apparently collecting data that isn’t necessary for processing notifications, but seems related to analytics, advertising, and tracking. And it’s a widespread problem.
