Down Syndrome of Louisville is hosting the Gallop Gala on April 24, 2015 at The Henry Clay.
Down Syndrome of Louisville is thrilled to announce this year’s Gallop Gala will feature the music of The Sultans of Swing. This nationally recognized band, which includes singers from “American Idol” and “American’s Got Talent”, has played for Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton, Donald Trump, and at numerous celebrity parties and weddings.
The Gallop Gala will celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of people with Down syndrome by including these citizens in the event by honoring them as our “celebrities”. Our “Red Carpet Walk” will feature our celebrity Down syndrome members, Dignitaries, Churchill Downs jockeys, local celebrities, as well as the more than 400 in attendance.
The Down Syndrome of Louisville Friendship Award will be presented to the writer and producer of the film “Where Hope Grows” (theatrical release in May 2015), Chris Dowling and Milan Chakraborty. Previous honorees include Louisville native and Oscar Award Winner Jennifer Lawrence and Kosair Charities. An invitation has been sent to Jennifer Lawrence again this year to attend. Mayor Greg Fischer also attended last year, and we are hoping that he attends this year!
